Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., December 22, 2009 – STAr Technologies Inc.,  a leading solution provider for semiconductor test solutions and probe cards in the semiconductor industry, today announced that it has further strengthen its commitment to the Japanese market by establishing a wholly owned Japanese subsidiary, i-STAr Technologies, Inc.

The Japanese semiconductor sector has global importance in both economic scale and as technology driver in this agile capital intensive industry.  By establishing its local presence in Japan, STAr Technologies is demonstrating its commitment to this market and its expanding customer base.  This wholly owned subsidiary will be responsible for two main activities.  Firstly, i-STAr Technologies will be responsible for marketing and business development in Japan and secondly, the probe card maintenance center setup within this subsidiary will provide local service and support of STAr Technologies' probe cards sold in Japan.

Sales and support of STAr Technologies' products will continue to be served by Innotech Corporation and i-STAr Technologies will be responsible for marketing and business development within the Japanese semiconductor industry.  Kazunori Nishitsuru, a veteran in the semiconductor market with more than 30 years of experience, has been named General Manager of the new enterprise.
